Got the blank page this morning, but it’s now back to the way it was before.
Nothing on mine changed, and I’m EA as well.
Still blank page for DD.
Portal was back to normal for me this AM. And the wait continues…
Probably the 15th as planned but sure you will be peeking between now and then Such a luxury not to wait until March or April. Good luck!
@CADREAMIN do you know if it is the 15th for sure?
Based on the EA thread from last year, people received their acceptances in the mail before it was online. Decisions will probably start being received next week, but not all on the same day.
@anothermuggle In another thread, someone said that decisions will be posted online before we get anything in the mail. See post 103.

@msdarcy oh haha cool. I’m tracking a bunch of EA threads so I’m probably mixed up.
Ok, so I went back to the keepsake box and old emails in the “college applications email” she used…the acceptance letter was dated 12/12/14. We received it ahead of online notification on the 15th, but we are local (one day mail time). The email saying award was ready to view online was the 19th, within a few days/week or so of acceptance. There ya go folks, that’s the specifics I have
@kgwaterski, the 15th was the date they sent an email last year that said results were now online and @vschuSCU said they spoke with admissions and it was the date this year as well. @vschuSCU seems very in tune, perhaps an insider, I am just a parent that went through this last year.
Wow thank you for checking on that. Next week should be interesting!
Did I understand this correctly that awards will be announced at the same time as decisions?
No they come a few days after, it is just an acceptance letter to whichever program you applied to (mine is CSE). Merit award around the 19th, certainly before Christmas if they follow tradition.
Thank you @CADREAMIN
@CADREAMIN Does the merit award come in the mail or is it posted online?
Also, would you support the statement that Santa Clara tends to be extremely unpredictable in awarding merit scholarships? I have seen cases where Ivy League level students get nothing, but people with lower stats get large offers.
I am very excited for you guys, I remember this time last year…she was accepted to 16 schools from CA to North Carolina and in the end picked SCU, even though she had some fulls at a couple great options. Luckily, that wasn’t the biggest factor in the decision. When she started the application process SCU was more near the bottom of her list than top. The engineering tour really impressed us and the connections to the valley are fabulous. Now that she has been there we know this is also the perfect fit socially for her. It’s a great journey as they find their own way over the next few months made better by having some acceptances in your pocket before the New Year, and with merit even better. As you go through the process, I will answer what I can, and always paint a realistic picture. I had two go to college before her, at that place down south with the U on the other side. SCU fit her better than that one did. Every student has to find their own “right thing.” Enjoy the ride!
@CADREAMIN I spent some time at that other place too. Small world. I ended up deciding to go overseas for a year and in a fit of youthful exuberance, told my parents, who were totally against the idea, that if they let me, I would pay for the rest of my college. So that ruled out the other place, lol.
@CAmidwestMom lol. Ya that independence can be double edge sword! All these privates are so expensive, but they certainly offer perks that are important to us. My two down south have had amazing times, great education, amazing connections, but she felt like she would get lost there, and in hindsight, I think she would have. That was a hard one to turn down (oh the agony of picking just one and committing - that’s a really tough time ahead if ya have some good choices…) but now we know she made the right choice for her.
That’s such a great feeling! Glad she is happy there.
@CADREAMIN so did you receive the letter on the 12th last year?
