I got in for Computer science at both schools. benefits bout SCU: 5 year MS degree, benefits of private school, alumni, blah blah, 25k scholarship
benefits of UCSD: good school, oen of the best in the nation, has a name
cons ucsd: financial crisis for UCS, too many ppl in class, very hard to get into 5 year ms program

im realy confused and ihave 1 week
help!

UCSD is definitely more known for its engineering programs. Plus, it’s way cheaper!

Which are you leaning to? Good luck.

well like i said im getting a 25K scholarship from SCU. so SCU is cheaper even if i live on campus. i like ucsd very much but its just that i really want to get my MS in 5 years which like i said is really hard to do as getting into the 5 year BS/MS program is very competitive but not as much in SCU wehre i can be guranteed a 5 year MS…thats pretty much the only thing holding me backk.

Check about your scholarship. Will it cover that fifth year? Many are for undergrad only and not that fifth year.

UCSD is really well known, most recently, for not having very much money to spend on a ton of students. If you think you can graduate in 4 years comfortably from one of the most crowded departments at the school, I encourage you to try. SCU is cheaper, is known for it’s undergraduate programs (not those of the graduate school like UCSD), and is in a much better area for comp sci majors - Silicon Valley. Finish up four years at SCU and go somewhere else for your master’s. That’s my two cents, anyway.
