My daughter was accepted EA for Communications. No merit in the letter. Hoping there’s something forthcoming.

Congratulations! Can you share her stats?

I was accepted to the College of Arts and Sciences (EA) for Political Science today!

I attend public high school with around 420 students in my class in which I am within the top 2%.

  • In-state
  • UW: 4.0, W: 4.33
  • 9 AP, 6 Honors (4 AP Scores- Three 3’s and One 4)
  • Test-Optional (although I now have gotten a 1440 SAT & 32 ACT)
  • Mid-tier extracurriculars (4-year varsity, few academic activities, assistant coaching)

No merit aid just yet, but will update!

Best of luck to everyone else & congrats to those accepted! <3

4.0 UW GPA (school doesn’t weight so not sure about that)

13 APs and several honors courses

Athlete and musician plus several impressive extra curriculars and summer programs. A couple college courses, leadership, URM and president of a non profit. 1500 SAT - 790 math/ 710 Reading (one and done). We are OOS.

Son admitted EA. Stats: 3.7 GPA (weighted), 3.5 (unweighted)—but with a strong positive trajectory and personal turnaround story (freshman+sophomore years was 3.2; junior year was 4.35 weighted); 6 AP classes with three 5s and two 4s and one 3; National Merit semi-finalist; SAT 1520; ACT 35 (superscore) 34 (composite); one sport, some extracurricular work; decent essays.

Would love to attend, but without a hefty merit scholarship it will be out of reach. He has a couple of near full scholarships at lesser schools, but we aren’t giving up hope yet.

How do I know if my newly accepted son received any financial aid or merit awards? I have no idea where to look in the portal.

when you login, they should be a link as well as a PDF file with the merit/financial aid.

Huh. I don’t see either.

Click on “View Update”.

When I click “view update” all I see is 1) the acceptance video, 2) the original acceptance letter we got 2 days ago.

You should receive an email from SCU titled “Your 2022-2023 Financial Aid Offer is now ready to view!”. Then it will be on your student portal.

I got the aid email one day after admission email.

OK, thanks for your help. Maybe my kid didn’t get any aid. I just emailed them to ask…

Yes both my son and I received an email from SCU saying that the Financial Aid offer was available in the portal. I received the email yesterday, the 16th after the acceptance on the 15th. My son received the Bronco merit scholarship which I’m definitely grateful for, but the amount is smaller than other merit amount received from other schools at this point. We’ll have to consider costs once all college decisions are made and SCU may turn out to be the most expensive…

GPA 3.75
SAT 1440
B.S Computer Science
Average Essays
Good ECs
5 APs
2 Community College Courses - COMSC

Thanks, was that EA or ED? There are both on this thread.
