What are the best majors at Santa Cruz? Right now my proposed major is Business Management Economics but I'm thinking about switching to psychology because I'm actually interested in psychology as I've already taken college courses for psychology. However, I'm just not exactly sure what I could do with a degree in psychology.

That is the problem with a degree in psychology. No one really knows what to do after college. On top of that, I warn you that psych at this time is difficult because the program seems to be overfull. My sophomore and junior friends are having a quite a time getting into the psych classes for their majors. You can imagine that freshmen are having a hard time as well. It is too bad because I loved the couple of psych classes that I took.

I am a BME major and I have not had any problems getting into classes (neither have my BME friends). It is definitely a cool major if you like economic theory. I recommend that you take a couple psych classes and a couple econ classes to see what interests you. Neither major requires that many classes, and you don’t need to declare until the end of your sophomore year.
