Thank you! So excited! Sarah Lawrence is EPIC!!!
Hey y’all, both me and my boyfriend applied to slc and got in. I did it early action and he applied regular decision. I immediately got both my finacial aid letter and acceptance but he never got a letter about financial aid. Did that happen to anybody else?
Congrats to you and your bf!! FWIW, I got my FA letter right with my acceptance letter.
My D was accepted. She is thrilled, but never got to tour. We are in CA. She wants to major in Theatre and loves what she is learning about the program.
accepted with $20k scholarship! I love the school but still wary over not being able to tour and lack of info online.
I got in with a 20k scholarship!
I agree it is hard to commit without touring. My son (accepted EA) is having a tough time deciding between honors college+small BFA program at high-ranking SUNY and SLC. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
When I visited Sarah Lawrence during the pandemic (during April last year), they didn’t do official tours but were open to letting us walk around the campus, which was very informative for me personally (if you can visit I recommend it). It really depends on what your son is going after. I personally am looking for an intimate, accepting, and engaging academic and social community, so I personally would choose SLC. But up to you!
Thanks

Hello,
My D accepted in RD for class of 2025. We live in midwest and most likely won’t be able to visit before she makes a decision. Looking on map and pictures, it seems to be in lovely setting and close to NYC seems a plus. I’m familiar with smaller LAC, but can someone give us insight into student culture? Thanks for any input.
The student culture is probably as important as any other factor when considering Sarah Lawrence College. Very liberal & very LGBTQ oriented student culture. The retention rate is about 84%.
Do students stay on campus for weekends?
I got accepted into Sarah Lawrence but I think with no scholarship?? Do they have a separate date informing about merit scholarship or am I just screwed?
I think all applicants get their merit scholarship letter with their decision letter (I had to scroll all the way down the decision letter to access the financial aid one).
Has anyone visited the campus informally over the last few months? Website says all programs are virtual, but even a walk around outside would be helpful to get to know the school.
I visited w/o a tour around a year ago (the pandemic was happening so there were no official tours, but we were allowed to roam the campus). Absolutely gorgeous!
Does anyone have concerns about the attrition rate / retention rate of students at Sarah Lawrence ?
Retention rate is around 85% I believe. Which is VERY impressive, especially for a somewhat obscure school!
Thank you for your response. My data on retention showing a slightly lower number (82%) is a couple of years old. I get concerned when retention rates show 80% or less for private schools.
