Both McCain and Palin have made change happen :)

Sarah Palin: Britney Spears 20 yrs later next on VH1 behind the Music.

pugfug90,

Do you actually read the sources you post, or do you just saturate us with links in hopes that we will think that your talking points have any merit?

For example, in that Newsweek article:
*He is an eager, cold-eyed politician who has sought the White House for a decade, compromised and reversed himself
*

So do you agree with that? I thought McCain was always "Country First" and without ambition like that uppity Barack Obama.

Not to mention that the story is mostly an apolitical biography of McCain's childhood and political temperament. Read your sources next time.

I liked the biography. The man admits his affairs, admits his guilt, admits his rowdyness, and he was immature before but he has grown into a man of character. So?

McCain's speech was pretty good man, you should watch it.

Voting for biographies and personalities is for dumbasses. The last eight years were a result of people not respecting the Oval Office enough to vote in an "elitist" but rather a schmuck that reminded them of themselves. It was an exercise in glorious vanity, and it failed miserably.

Bush showed stupid and ignorant voters that they have power, and they're not going to give it up without a fight. Before you protest, none in that category participate here.

Being ingnorant of a politicians past voting record or whatever does not make you ignorant. For many people politics is not interesting and they vote based on their own paradigm. Also, many people work and do not have time to watch speeches;this does not make them ignorant, but rather simply not engaged.

If biographies are not important, then why does Barack Obama constantly speak of his white mother in Kansas? The biography of a candidate is important because it provides prespective as to the things that have shaped the and in turn will impact the way they legislate.
For example John McCain's biography of choosing to stay in a POW Camp. Tells me that he has moral conviction and therefore will not see the office as a reward or whatever, but will actually engage in policies that are going to benefit people, because he seems to actually care.
The personality is also important on both sides. Would Obama be where he is today without his personality? I mean between Clinton and him there were alsmost no differences from a policy standpoint, so what did people vote for? The personality of the candidate.
Solely voting on the basis of biography is a bad decision. But luckily for me, John McCain's biography is only one aspect.

I never said that biographies were worthless, but as you said so yourself, solely voting on the basis of biography, or even making it a high priority, is stupid. Like if you don't like a candidate or oppose many of their beliefs, yet still vote for them because of their supposed likeness to your own life story, then you're an idiot.

Even Britney Spears thinks Palin was a wacked out home life. Just what we need in DC, more soap opera characters. Wasnt Larry Craig and Mark Foley and Mark Vittner enough? Akmost forgot the NY R that had two families. Family Values doesnt mean what it used to.

Family Values

Family Values TM is a trademark concept registered by the Republicans deployed conveniently and hypocritically in order to stir resentment among those who just did not get laid enough during the free love era and are now deeply regretting it.

j/k. sort of

Check out youtube for her latest clueless moment. She basically said that the Govt was taking over Fannie Mae and freddie Mac b/c they were too big and expensive for taxpayers. They have been publicly traded companies for decades and they are going to be expensive now for taxpayers during this bailout.

The only person who thinks Palin is prepared is W who ill be starring in his own reality show next year called "Lost"

But she has five kids. Doesn't that make her qualified unlike that uppity Barack Obama who's only a U.S. senator?

You guys are funny. Fannie and Freddie are essentially government entities.

In my opinion, McCain has just handed the election to Obama-Biden (which I am very happy about!)

He can no longer attack Obama for lack of experience - Palin has less! There goes the Republican party's number one attack on the Obama campaign.

She doesn't even appeal to pro-Hillary supporters, because she is so violently anti-abortion.

If John McCain dies, which he very well might, he'll put a ridiculously inexperienced person in charge of our entire country - somebody with absolutely ZERO foreign policy experience.

I think McCain just proved his inability to lead. He can't even pick a decent VP. I would be very, very disappointd if

What about you guys?
Um she has more executive experience than McCain, Obama and Biden put together, *** are you talking about.

As per freddie and fannie, they are both created by Congress, to try and negate the effect of regulation and intervention in the market. The government had to bail them out, or they had one more choice, relax regulation and let the market do its own job, but we couldn't do that now could we,

We've seen the Bush disaster of government by divine hunch. Especially at McCain's age, her views on governing by what God tells her are equally terrifying.

For the TV channel sweeps next week the Palins are going to be on Maury Povich and Jerry Springer. I can't wait to see them both.

Is it true she went to 5 colleges in 5 years?

Pugfug- Fannie and freddie are publicly traded companies. Tell me how much the Federal Resrve Bank is trading for today. Oh, it doesnt trade on the exchange?, must be b/c it is a governmnet entity. Pls note the difference.

This stuff might not be sexy, but to serious people, it is very important. She is not qualified period. If she were to b/c President ( like 20% have in this country's history) the stock market would crash in unprecedented proportions.

Pls people, this isnt funny any more, its just sad. Lets keep the country safe and vote for substance not flash. McCains judgement is questionable and now is not a time for risk.

???????
Think what you want. They can be "technically" anything, but they are really government-backed "companies" whose sole existence has deep ties with the economy, of which, the government has a huge stake in. This "corporation" is not in the business of raking in big profits for their shareholders, their job is to make it easier for people to buy houses.

Okay, good for you, if you don't recognize Freddie as the government behemoths that they are. You really foiled Palin, what a goofball. She's such a gaffe machine.

vossron, I'm afraid you're in the minority. A lot of people in America believe in God and they aren't scared of him either.

I'm not sure how many colleges she went to nor do I see the relevance, but in this documentary that I watched, they did go over her college adventures :)

swish, I believe in America. The sky's not gonna fall, okay?

vossron, I'm afraid you're in the minority. A lot of people in America believe in God and they aren't scared of him either.

Apples and oranges. The issue is believing a crackpot who says something is God's will. Who's to say that the pope knows God's will? Whose interpretation is correct? No one has any special path, and we should believe no who says they do.

That's just sophistry and you know it. What if I start my own three-man company with my friends and call myself president, and claim that I have more executive than the vice-president of General Motors? Technically, I'd be right.

And I'm sure you were fully behind Wesley Clark when he, a four-star general, claimed that the air grunt McCain had no executive military experience.
