Hey y'all, i have no problem with Writing, but Math and CR bother me from reaching 2000+

Any suggestions for math especially? since I feel that it is the easiest to raise (650 now)?
Besides reading, what do you recommend for CR? (580) <-- not pleased at all, very confident that the June one will be higher.

I have the "Acing the New SAT1 Math" and the "Grubers Complete SAT Guide 2011".
If anyone has used the gruber's book that I have, or can recommend any math workbooks, places to work on would be very helpful!

For math, just do relatively hard problems , not only SAT ones.If you aren’t good at math
you probably won’t be able to get 800 by practicing SAT math only.

I recently got PWN the SAT for math. Awesome book. Get it if you really want to raise your math score, probably the best book I’ve read for it.

any other advice>?

Just like vkracing said, try some non-SAT math problems. Perhaps some AMC10 or AMC12 problems, which are much harder than SAT (although the first several AMC problems are comparable in difficulty to hard SAT problems). Doing this can improve your accuracy at the harder SAT/ACT problems.

Chilly,

A couple tips:

(1) Grab a review book out there that has like 10 practice tests (McGraw Hill, Kaplan, Princeton Review - doesn’t matter - just make sure it has detailed answer explanations for all of the questions.) Then go through the tests and TARGET the exact types of math questions that give you the most trouble. Do all of those questions and then read through the explanations in the back for how to do the questions if you miss them. Over time this will cure a lot of issues.

(2) There are a lot of apps out there - SATLadder has around 700 or 800 math questions that you could do.

(3) I have a blog that I put out - if you want the link to it send me a message and you can read some tips I’ve put out on various types of math questions.

Good luck!!

just reviewing tests on blue book should be sufficient as far as math goes right?

^^^Yes, it’s ALL that you need for practice. As for a comprehensive sum up of ALL the Maths Rules in the SAT, study the Math section from Barron’s SAT Main Book, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. NOT a single question in the test, WILL include something that’s not in it.

I think Barron’S SAT main book will be good for those who are finding problem with the SAT MATHS SECTION

To all Students out there, just remember your success is not completed without God
