Is there any reason to save SAT score from fall of 7th grade? I think college board erases the record after 12 months. Would there be any programs, late middle school or early HS that he should use this score for when applying or just waits until he re-takes junior year for college?
Some summer programs, like CTY, use the score. It won’t be valid for college applications, though.

If your kid is applying for selected boarding schools or private high schools, SAT may be required, although it is more likely they would require ISEE or SSAT.
My eldest kept his 7th and 8th grade scores for various reasons. It didn’t hurt him in admissions, and he actually did use his 8th grade subject test scores for college applications. Bottom line: If there’s no compelling reason, don’t keep 'em. If there is a reason reason, it won’t hurt to save them.
My D was mortified in junior year about her 8th grade score (which was pretty good). I had no idea we could get rid of it. It became a bit of any issue with schools that required all scores…she was not happy about it. I’m pretty certain it has zero impact except to her.
Interesting. I think my son didn’t care a bit. He’s not one to feel mortified, though.
