SAT 2 Chem Discussion May 2 2009

shane are u talking about the hess’s law one…?
the choices were like -85 -35 25 and some others

umm yeahh
it was like
-85 i thinkk

wow 227 is really good
although if i wasnt dumb/checked my work i would have gotten 230 :frowning:
o well, next year is what matters :)

no the enthalpy one was -35
you just added up the numbers. -60 + 25

where are u from, let me guess new jersey aka home of the genuises

but wasnt it endothermic makign it a gain of heat andthe only + answer was 25 i dunno…

All you had to was apply Hess’s Law.

all you need to do is add the problems together cuz hess’s law as peeps said

hahhaa actually i am living in new jersey currently
but i was born/lived in california for 10 years

noo im like 90% sure it was -85
cause u had to reverse the second one

thought so lol

No, you just added them together as written.

Came out to -35.

was +25 a choice?

so is anyone thinking about cancelling?
i’m probably definitely (lol oxymoron) registering for june just in case
and if my score is good enough, i’ll just take… math I or something useless LOL.

but i know some colleges dont accept score choice…
ugh if only princeton would make their decision, seriously

its not -85.

lol what of new jersey cyanide?

shahe i put 25… but i dont think i did it right

was+25 a choice

and you didn’t have to reverse them

the equations were something like

X (g) -> 2Y + Z dH = 60
X (l) -> X (g) dH = -25

see if you add them, the X (g)'s cancel and you’re left with X(l) -> 2Y + Z which is what they asked for

theres no need for reversing anything.

yea u just add them no reversal necessary…
