SAT 2 Chinese

Hey guys, just wondering how do you guys prepare for the Chinese Test with Listening, i speak a little bit, and i can read some chinese, but i heard you need to get a perfect 800.
so how exactly do you study for this test? cant seem to find any princeton or barron books..

i don’t think a 800 in Chinese is impressive, i speak Chinese fluently in my home, but I’m not going to take it, it is a waste of time and money. The average SAT Chinese is 770.

The average of SAT Chinese is more like a 800, honestly. I took the test sophomore year, got a 800, and landed at some low-50th percentile. There’s really no point taking it because you’ll most likely not submit it as one of your two SATII grades.

Oh, and you won’t find any prep books because there isn’t any available. I think Barron was planning to make one then the book never came out… check amazon, maybe.

^
Well yeah… but that’s cause everyone is who takes SAT Chinese is CHINESE.
Which have one of the highest SAT scores out of any given group as well as an ethnic advantage.
And since there arn’t many High Schools that offer Chinese, not many students are able to take it as a second language. The language is difficult because it doesn’t really have grammar, so anyone who took Chinese wouldn’t want to take it because colloquialisms differ a lot.
I think colleges look at your score all in the same way. It means you know the language, nothing more.
Go ahead and take it, and yeah. You might have to look on like Amazon for a specialized book because PR, Kaplan, and blah blah blah only have books for like Math I & II.

I got a 730 in US history and 700 in math, both which are horrible, so i was hoping Chinese could replace math >.>

It was easy. I finished in 40 minutes b/c I had something to do that day. I got a 800 and missed one listening problem b/c it didn’t go in order and I didn’t realize it until I finished listening -.-
