I took the sat subject tests this June and Got an 800 in BioM, 740 in world History. Yet I got a 690 in Math 2. This last score confused me since I studied from the Barrons book and got 700s and 800s on the practice tests. I may have over-studied for math since I took to practice math subject tests the day before, or it may be attributed to a crazy stomach pain I began to feel at the time I was taking the Math 2. Thoughts on how I should study for the next test date?

Similar situation (somewhat). I scored very close to 800 (770), but did not receive the perfect score I desired. I attribute this completely to a few errors on my part; given revised conditions, I’m very confident that I would have securely scored an 800.

Here’s how I’ll adapt my study method if I decide to retake the test (hopefully this will help you):

I only completed 3/6 tests in Barron’s. But, I did go through ALL of the actual content in the book.

There is supposed to be some sort of College Board guideline on what material is on the test. I’ll have to validate this, but someone I met who took the test and did well said his only preparation was learning the material it covered.

I had some released SAT 2 tests from CB (which I purchased or my friends gave me) - I did not have time to complete these. They are useful because they cover actual material and problems that are on the test. Barron’s covered stuff that wasn’t on the exam, and the exam even had problems that Barron’s DIDN’T cover (think that logic flow problem, and percent error). I think there are 4 released exams total (which you have to buy). I really should have used these, and will next time.

My sleeping patterns up until that night were awful. I was very tired the day of the exam. Next time, I will routinely get up at 5am the entire week or so before.

It was the second test of the day. I think a good rule, if you positively want to score an 800, is only complete 1 exam on any given day.

Thank you! The funny thing is that I did not study for the bio m. Did a little bit of studying for the WH and a lot of studying for the math. The scores came out the opposite that one would expect.

I did better in the barron’s and the SAT subject test blue book (800 in the latter) yet I got a 770 on the Math II. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?!?!?!

I’m going to have to retake this. -_-
I will get more official tests next time. The SAT subject test blue book only has 1 for each subject.
