SAT II math lvl 2

I would like to describe what happened before and during the test to make you understand my issue.

Before the test, I took practice tests in Barron’s and Arco. I got high 700s-800 on them. I did the real test I have and got an 800 (50/50) with 10 minutes to spare.

On the test day, I skipped 7 (I ran out of time when attempting to solve the last 4) and I probably have at least 3 mistakes.

I definitely will retake because I believe I can do better. This was my first time taking SAT II.
I know I have a great weakness: problem-solving. The test I took today had relatively many problem-solving questions written in a paragraph each, and I find it difficult understanding some of those paragraphs to interpret them mathematically in the first place. I didn’t see that much paragraphs coming based on the tests I solved! (they barely had any problem-solving questions)

I also second-guessed myself. A lot.

I’m not sure what to do at the moment to prepare. Especially for problem-solving questions - they were a disaster and I didn’t expect that much to come! (and they were difficult in MY opinion)

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thank you for any advice you have for me.

My son took SAT2 Math 2 and did okay but wanted to do better. A friend recommended the Dr. Chung book and he spent some time with it. He got an 800.

@Momofmrb thank you so much. I’m expecting a 740-750 but I want to do better too.

@BethanyD Good luck! The book is amazing.

Holy crap, same thing with me! I never got higher than a 690 on Barron’s, but I took the official practice test, missed nothing, and had about 10 min to spare the night before.

Yesterday I had to omit 4 questions because I flat out ran out of time :frowning:

Not sure what happened, but I generally scored the same on Barron’s as I did on the real practice test; (740+). I was afraid of matrices and conic sections, but I didn’t see much of it at all on the actual. I finished in record time (I’m scared- did I do something wrong?) with about 20 minutes to spare, and omitted none. Is this a good thing or did I misread something horribly?
