How do you guys think the curve will be? did everyone (honestly) find it easy or hard?
You guys are violating College Board rules by discussing the questions.
@teaxcupcakes I believe it was 2 up
How do you guys think the curve is going to be? I’m so worried because I skipped 6 questions and didn’t even have time to look over my other answers so I could have made a stupid mistake. I’m so mad at myself because I worked my ass off studying for this test and I’ve been aiming for an 800. I honestly thought it was not much easier than Barron’s. So many of the questions were stuff I had never seen before. Definitely see that I got the last one wrong now. I guessed on it. Also, the official collegeboard practice tests are much, much easier than the one I took today. I literally ended up crying when I got home because of how mad I was.
How does the October Test compare to John Chung’s SAT Math Level 2 Tests?
@junebuggie its still possible for you to get an 800 but even if you get a 790 or 780 theres not really a difference so you shouldn’t be upset over it
@intparent Why do you even care about whether other people are punished for ridiculous and unenforceable rules? Even if the College Board had any means of identifying the “rule-breakers,” what concern is it of yours whether they follow the sacred College Board vow of silence?
@RiceEater108 I studied everything in Barron’s and dabbled in Chung’s a bit, and both were a lot harder than the real thing.
I think both are intended to over-prepare you, but one thing I noticed was that Barron’s is just all around harder, while Chung’s easier questions more closely resemble the real thing. His harder questions are obscure to the point of being silly.
If you have time, use both ofc.
The reason they don’t want questions discussed is because they don’t want the actual questions released until they release them. And has it occurred to you that the time zones for the test vary widely? Go ahead… give information to students who haven’t taken the test yet. You will note the pinned thread at the top of the forum about the ACT monitoring these forums. You can’t be sure College Board won’t.
And general discussion of prep materials, scoring, etc is fine. Going over specific questions is not.
i got confused about the cheese question. what did we establish is the answer?
Guys, would sending subject test score on late december hurt admissions chances? (SAT I is sent early)
what did we say the answer for the cheese is?
@goldy1121 If you mean the roman numerals question, the answer was I & II only. The last one was something like, “The cheese will be 50 F at some point in time,” but that would be impossible because 55 + e^[something] cannot go below 55. I can’t remember the function exactly, but it was something like that.
honestly think im gonna cancel my scores, i worked so hard and had no time to go over my answers and I skipped 6
probably going to retake in November
@junebuggie are you thinking of cancelling your scores at all?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but why are you guys cancelling scores? I know that for the regular SAT, some colleges don’t accept Score Choice, but I was under the impression that they don’t care about subject tests and you can send whichever ones you want, except for Yale.
@intparent Regardless of whether it is morally right or wrong to discuss answers (at this point all considerations of timezones and whatnot are irrelevant, so I don’t see how it is helping people to cheat), why do you feel that your persistent warnings are effective? This is all anonymous, so I don’t understand how CB would actually “investigate” any of this.
@Terraform because I know I’d do better next month and it’s better to show that you did well in one go instead of in two. also b/c the specific program of the school I’m applying to strongly recommends math 2
