I took AP physics C mechanics, but have no other classes i can take at my high school. And the class at my local university in electricity and stuff is not offered at a good time for me. All the mechanics stuff is easy, except i havent been introduced to anything else on the test. What is a good book to self study, rather than review, for the rest of the stuff on the SAT physics test (electricity, heat, waves, modern)

I'd use Kaplan. People say that it's too easy, but I don't think that it's easier than the test, and it reinforced things enough for me (I hadn't taken the class for a while) to get an 800.

kaplan portrays the test well. also take the real version from the real sat book. just go to the bookstore or local library ;)

What about sparknotes, how does that compare to kaplan. I need something that is easy to understand since im learning it on my own, but goes into enought detail so that im comfortable with all the problems

bump bump bump

Don't use Kaplan...it's way too easy. Use it only for review.

I self-studied a lot of the topics you mentioned, tivesrx, like electricity, magnetism, nuclear physics, modern physics, and heat. Use Sparknotes and/or Princeton Review (they are both pretty much the same). Don't use Barron's; it is way too difficult, and don't use Kaplan, because it is just too easy. I got an 800 as well.

It seems like the physics test demands too much self study.I dont mind doing it, but a lot of these classes that teach stuff like modern physics and stuff arent always offered at all high schools.
