SAT 2 World History

Hi everyone… I am a sophomore taking the AP World History Exam next week, and I am also registered to take the SAT 2 in World History June 3rd. Do I need to do much more studying beyond what I am studying for the AP Exam? If so, does anyone have any tips? Thanks in advance

I literally have the same question… Wish I could help? How do you think you did on the AP Exam? I hope I got a lvl 4 or 5, multiple choice was (tricky/debatable) but the Short Answer, DBQ, and LEQ I feel confident about and might’ve got a perfect score or close at best. The AP World History book that was given (the sunset-cover book) is what my class is using and I took notes on it, that’s what I’ll use for the SAT 2 until I know what else I have to do for preparation.

I would recommend reading the Barron’s book in preparation (and the Princeton Review, if you have time). Otherwise, Barron’s should suffice. Also, try taking a few released tests. The history SAT tests tend to be more detailed-oriented than the AP’s.

Hope that helps!

(BTW, taking AP World History and SAT II’s as a sophomore shows real initiative. Keep it up! If you can, get your SAT II’s all taken care of early next school year. This will put you way ahead of the curve and make your junior year significantly less stressful, since the regular SAT’s are much easier to study for.)

From what I’ve heard and gleaned from the Internet, the Barron’s book is really helpful (however, in my opinion the organization is bad and there are a couple of inaccuracies with the practice questions). It’s much more detailed than the AP exam and the majority of people say that it’s harder than the AP exam due to the amount of detail that it goes in (such as people names and event names), but the curve is pretty big (around 15-20 questions leeway for an 800). Considering that today is the last day, I am just skimming through the Barron’s book and taking note of names/events/treatises.

Fingers crossed!
