I really wanna apply to MIT, and on my third SAT i got 1980, which is clearly not on par with the level of acceptance in the statistics, so heres my questions, Will taking the SAT a fourth time (after rigourisly studying in summer) negatively affect the quality of my application (due to the quantity?)? Also im currently an 11th grader, next year ill be a 12th grader (just a random detail)

I think they will superscore and take your best but I don’t think anyone would advise you to retake the SAT a 3rd time…maybe try the ACT or something, but really, scores tend to improve from the 1st to the 2nd test…afterwords they stay the same-ish…don’t waste money on another SAT. MIT isn’t going to NOT admit you just because of a low SAT. Just as they won’t admit you for a high one alone.

i read about the score choice thing, but i dont understand it to the fullest … would that negate the fear im experiencing about taking the SAT for a fourth time?
