Taking the SAT 3 Times

I have a question regarding what MIT thinks of taking the SAT multiple times. I have thus far taken it twice, and including today's (Dec 3rd). Now, the predicament I face is that for whatever reason, I completely blanked on my essay and ended up barely finishing, rushing the last two paragraphs in the final 5 minutes of the writing section. However, I am fairly confident I did really well on the MC parts of the exam (maybe a few wrong cumulatively among CR and Writing, none wrong math). Now my question is, will taking the SAT a 3rd time look bad to MIT?

You should wait until you get your scores back. If you have over 700 in all sections you don’t really need to take it again.

I agree. MIT doesn’t seem to care about your absolute scores as much as what the scores say about your ability to do their level of work. There’s no significant difference, over 700, with 10-20 points (i.e. 740 v. 760). Just about every year, there are kids with 2400’s who don’t get in. Taking the SAT more than twice might seem obsessive if you have 700’s already.
