SAT/ACT Combo Practice Test by Kaplan?

Does anyone have information or experience regarding the SAT/ACT Combo Practice Test?
A public library 20 minutes away from us has Kaplan coming in to offer it.

Description from their website:
"Free program!
The 3.5 hour Combo Practice Test helps students decide which test is right for them. This practice test will include questions from the ACT and questions from the SAT. Students receive feedback that compares their performance on each of the analogous test sections of the two exams—for example, SAT math section vs. ACT math section. This is a perfect opportunity to experience both tests.
After three weeks, students will receive a 6-8 page report via email regarding their results.
The results will diagnose which test is better for you and what tactics will help improve either or both exam scores."

D is a junior and seems interested, says she'll forward the link to her friends.

If you haven't taken it, does the description look like a worthwhile test?

IME Kaplan gives everyone a bad grade on these practice tests so you think you should sign up, but this is an interesting concept.

I believe they make this test available online. It may save you a drive.

I’m not sure I would trust the results of these tests, which are not actual SATs or ACTs, and are administered by an entity interested in selling tutoring services.

A convenient and free alternate method is:

1) Download the current [ACT and SAT official practice tests from act.org and collegeboard.com, respectively. (SAT answers here](http://www.act.org/aap/pdf/Preparing-for-the-ACT.pdf).) Both of these tests were previously administered.

2) Take each test at home under timed conditions and score them.

3) Compare scores. You may want to determine the percentile ranks for each as a basis of comparison: SAT ranks here[/url”>http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/research/SAT-Percentile-Ranks-2012.pdf]here, ACT ranks here.

The idea is a good one, as the SAT can be more about knowledge and the ACT can be more about whether you are good at taking tests (which, by the way, shows it can be beat).
