My school is offering the SAT/ACT combo test that is run by Kaplan. I think it is only 1-3 and it costs money. Would it be worth taking this test at all? I don't know if it will benefit me at all.

My son took the SAT 3 times (+100 each time) and the ACT twice(same score each). He says the best way to prepare is take lots of practice tests. Additionally, the SAT (email) Question of the Day is a great tool, and free when you register at Collegeboard.com. However, if you’ve never taken them before and don’t know what to expect, the classes are probably worth it.

Get the free practice tests (SAT & ACT) from your school (or online) and test yourself instead of wasting money on this test. The two tests are very different and I didn’t feel the score was realistic after I took the actual tests.

The only reason to take these tests is if you are scoring in the low 20s and want to move up to the mid-high 20s.

I did sign up on collegeboard for the questions of the day. The problem is, I stopped getting the quesion of the day emails after a couple of months.

Ok, thank you. :)

They shouldn’t stop until you tell them to stop.
Are they being stopped by your spam blocker?

No, I get other messages from collegeboard. For example, when I forgot my password to the account, it sent a message to me. Collegeboard stopped giving me the questions though. Thanks.
