SAT/Admission Requirements for Internationals

Hello everyone,

I'm wondering what would a "good" SAT score be for an international (Canadian) student applying to the States.

What would a good score be for Ivies, lower Ivies, and higher publics
all WITH Financial Aid

Thanks,

(ps. I got a 2280 on SAT I, do i need to retake that?)

I think that SAT score is good, but whether it is good for Ivies, I don't know. I wouldn't retake it if I'm not sure that I will improve the score.
Ivies need SAT IIs as well.

thanks,

But considering financial aid?
would that make a steep increase in requirements?

You don't have to pay tuition at Harvard if your family income is lower than $60K. You can Google this and find out more. I know that at Caltech and NYU financial aid kinda lowers your chances but I don't think they are that bad at the Ivies. Remember that they are looking for talents regardless of your financial background.

That score is excellent for the Ivies! Absolutely NO need to retake

Thanks guys

but that's only for need blind right?

but are u POSITIVE that a 2280 will be competitive for Canadians, even internationals....
cause i thought the admission req. are much harder for internationals,

so a 2280 might be good for US citizens, but for Canadians?

Thanks

A 2280 is plenty even for internationals. What you need is something besides test scores and grades that makes you an interesting applicant - e.g. some regional, national or international distinction (science olympiads or athletics or journalism or music or...), an unusual hobby, a strong leadership record (something more unusual than class president) etc.

well....

I'll just work up my extra-curriculars then

Thanks

Do excessively in one area to show your passion (apparently it must be something you like :P). Don't do a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

thanks for the advices
