I am currently a Junior in High School. I will be taking the test on April and I was just wondering any advice that might help me score higher and books I should read (I own the Official SAT Study Guide) but I don't know if it's enough. Any other tips that might be helpful would be appreciated.

What would a realistic SAT Score goal would be for me? I'm going to talk about myself in order to help you give me an approximate score...
I am taking all honors classes and I will be taking AP Psychology, and AP Spanish (I'm Hispanic, and I know the grammar and everything) so it'd be easy for me. I get straight A's and do it almost effortlessly which is why I will be taking AP classes my senior year (I know I should have taken AP earlier). I am thinking a little bit over 2000 would be realistic. I took a practice test in SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides and scored 1630 (I didn't try in the math part because I didn't have a calculator with me). Tell me what you guys think.

I scored 1690 (450M,550CR,690W(without essay)) on the SparkNotes test. It’s not really accurate. I’d suggest to do the CB one ,printed. Not online. Then calculate your scores.

Since your test is in April , I would reccomend to start right away. The Blue Book is sufficient for practice but its review is kind of cursory.

Buy Barron’s Guide for the SAT. It’s tough, it’s hardcore and you’ll definitely become savvy if you study dilligently with it. Go through ALL its reviews, tactics and such. If you still don’t feel confident - do them again.

Then do its practice tests. They’re hard. You must get used to them. After you’ve got through them , reviewed them and basically chewed all bit of information out of them , do the Blue Book ones. They’ll be a walk in the park.

If you need additional practice - Buy Chung’s or Gruber’s Math workbooks, Barron’s 2400 (it just has some extra hard examples) and go through them. Then practice again.

If you’re still not satisfied, buy the online course. Do its tests.

Realistic SAT scores depend on how much time and effort you’re willing to invest in the test.Scores are directly proportional with the time you spent practicing and studying.

Good luck.

I just checked with the Collegeboard and there is no SAT in April. Are you sure there is SAT in April? I only saw March, May, June.

Oops, it’s May. I confirmed with my teacher and she was like “April? I said May.” I registered with her so that’s why she knew. Thanks for telling me that, I have more time to study.

Kaizeras, what was your real SAT score when you took it?
