SAT and ACT scores discrepancy...

I'm applying to Yale, Princeton, and the like, and I had a question about my ACT and SAT scores.

SAT: Math:800 CR:710 Writing:800
ACT: English:36 Math:34 Reading:36 Science:32

I sent both.

I got an 800 in math level 2 subject test, so the act score was just because i ran out of time. Same happened in science, but oh well.

My question is, considering my CR score is low for the ivies, would the reading score on the ACT make up for it??

I think they just look at the one that they believe is overall better when considering you. They won’t take out your M +W from the SAT and you Reading from the ACT since they are completely different tests. They will take your whole SAT or whole ACT…and they will take the better one(in their opinion) when deciding.

So they dont even look at both of them?

Yes they will look at both of them, but they won’t take components of each, they will just be like “this score looks better” and take that when they pass it onto a decision maker.

oh okay, thanks!

Dont stress too much about it. Both scores are good enough to get you considered. From then on it will fall to gpa, ecs, etc.
