Curtis writes that an international applicant must have a minimum score of 500 on their Critical Reasoning SAT. If an international candidate scores well enough on the TOEFL but has a lower SAT score and is an exceptional musician will they still consider his application?
If that 500 written in stone?
Pick up your telephone and call. Curtis is fantastic at answering questions!!! You’ll have your answer in less then a minute. I’m pretty sure they are serious about the 500. My son had to take the SAT because of the audition at Curtis. He wasn’t going to take it at all as the other schools he auditioned at didn’t require them.
I will definitely call. But quick question: Is your son a native English speaker?
You may be worrying without cause. If he can score well enough on the TOEFL the odds are he can get a 500. Has he tried a practice test?
You can apply and audition at Curtis without the SAT. The diploma program ( which all undergrads are put into) doesn’t require it. If you then get in and want the BM, take the SAT.
