Are PSAT and SAT questions in cr, writing and math of equal difficulty?

bump!! …

Yes, they are written the same way. Just less sections.

I’m not sure, but I believe PSAT math covers less breadth thatn does SAT math, but the difference is almost nothing.

I heard the overall the PSAT is easier, however the curve is harsher so it balances out.

From taking both, I’d agree with ZombieDante. When I took the PSAT, one wrong on math or reading was non-perfect, along with 2 wrong on writing. For the SAT, 2+ wrong is usually still perfect for reading and writing. This is, of course, caused by the greater number of sections.

^Just wondering what did you score on your PSAT?

The PSAT content is exactly the same for reading and writing (minus the essay). For math it is pretty much the same although it covers slightly less and feels a little easier. As a previous poster said the curve on PSAT kills compared to the SAT so you have to be more consistent. The trends seem to show that you can expect around 50 more points on your SAT than your PSAT due to studying+curve differences.

I think (at least for math) the PSAT is easier, since PSAT focuses up to algebra 2, while the SAT’s questions vary up to pre-calculus. That’s what I heard.

I scored better on my SAT, and I studied for the PSAT and not the SAT. I still don’t have a great grade, so I’ll need to study. All in all, I think it’s all about preference. I liked taking tons of shorter sections, and the SAT didn’t seem as long as the PSAT. Just my opinion.

They both have basically equal content. But the PSAT curve is a *****.

They are equal.
