I know SATs are an important indicator on how well you will do in college. As a non trad. student I have not taken or even seen my SAT score since 2001. should I retake the SATs so I can prove to colleges that i am deemed worthy of college level work? or should I submit my score as is? If i do submit my score as it is, would colleges look down upon a low score, or consider that fact that i have taken college level course?

Definitely retake the SATs. In fact, it might hurt you if you don't take the SAT again...they'll hold it against you if you just send in the scores that are about six years old.

Take the SAT...do better than before and they will only take the better score into account.

Good luck!

thanks (10)

every college I've looked at will not consider scores that are over 5 years old.

well there are some colleges that do require to submit SATs after you have achieved a certain amount of credits, like NYU for example. Some colleges require you to submit them no matter what. I am just worried to submit old scores because my old scores reflected my younger imature, not ready for college self. I also dont want to take the SATs over again because im 22 years old...i dont want to be taking SATs with people that cant even drink legally. But if i must, I will.
