SAT Biggest Improvement Stories

I increased my SAT score by over 200 points and I am waiting to here back on my ACT results.

My writing score went up 160 points, my math went up 110.

1860->2090->2150
its possible

1730-1860-2090... it can be done my friend

my friends have done 1940 to 2240 as well as 2200 to 2380

I went from a 2020 (740 M, 680 CR, 600 W) on the January 2007 test to a 2170 (800 M, 730 CR, 640 W) on the January 2008 test. My essay score stayed the same though (an 8). :-(

I still want to get it over 2200, though...

187(sophomore)-->209(junior)-->2140(junior)

I got the exact same composite score >.< (2150) but it ended up being 50 points higher superscored. So yes, definitely take it again. Part of it is luck.

my psat went from 175 to 205
my practice tests were hovering around 210-215 though

i know someone who went from a 170 to a 221.

i went from a 1600 to 2060!!

chckn4040 How did you do that??

Me, 1640 (600M, 530CR, 510W 8 essay)
to 2240 (780M, 710CR, 750W 12 essay)

This is between about 14 months. I will tell you, I acquired every single collegeboard SAT (new and old) I could get my hands on, and I went at it over and over. You will begin to feel the CB, if you get my meaning. You will become the testmaker, (to a certain extent), and wrong answers will pop out and look so foolish to you. I did require some vocab building, but, I think getting to understand how words are assigned meanings, how to decipher them, and the connotations of words was the most valuable tool.

Practicing with college board resources only, I thin, is a surefire way to rocket your score. This is because you fall in sync with them. After so much practice, you will understand what they test, what kind of answer is right, and how to get to it. The only way to lose points then, is by human error, as with me in math, so keep a vigilant eye!

192 - 232 (PSAT) - 2340. it is possible. i agree with akahmed - for full practice tests, use CB only

I'd say this doesn't count...but

7th grade: 1270 (old test)
11th grade: 2260

I win

1920 >> 2340!!!!!!

(I scored 2300+ on my past 3 practice exams!!)

YES, it's possible!

I want to go to Stanford!!!

Check my profile if you want the link to the eBook I used to get this jump!

IM REALLY HAPPY
my score went up 200 points after one month of studying
hopefully before June 7th, the SAT Im going to take, my score will do another big jump!!
My goal is a 2100
1780-->1980

600 --> 2400

Obviously I'm kidding ;)

I've seen some pretty major jumps - from the 1800s to 2200s or even 2300s, which is amazing. Gives me some hope. Hopefully we can hear more of the details on what exactly people did to improve their score...

2060->2220->probably 23something this time

I think a lot of it is just as you go through classes, your mind begins to mature a bit and you see questions in different ways sometimes... some things actually begin to stick too

After I finished my first real SAT, I was ecstatic and relieved.

My first practice SAT was a 1670; if the answers on this board to may's SAT are correct, then I would estimate a 2200.

A 530 pt gain; it took a lot of intense, incessant studying.

Now I'll do the same for SAT IIs!
