SAT Bio-E HELP!!!

Ok, I got my SAT II Bio-E score back, and it was a 680. But I have never taken any college-prep bio class and studied the whole curriculum on my own. On the test, most questions I didn't know were lab-based questions that I doubt I'll get right if I haven't taken an AP bio class.

So would a 680 suffice in this case?

Also, only 2-3 colleges I'm applying to REQUIRE SAT IIs, one of which only STRONGLY RECOMMENDS. My other SAT II is Math 2, which was a 770.

I think whether you should retake it is up to you (depends on how selective your colleges are), but I would recommend Barron’s and PR if you do decide to study again for a retake. I self-studied the material using those two and got 780 without too much trouble.

A good prep book should be sufficient. Although I scored a 750 on Bio-E with Barron’s and my AP textbook (only got to read up to photosynthesis), so…

yeah but the thing is: I studied the WHOLE curriculum by myself. I had no prior knowledge of Biology except for that 1-semester honors class I took 2 years ago. I can’t retake it cause I need to take the SAT in Dec.

So what should I do?

I would avoid sending it to those colleges that do not require it. I think it is difficult to convey excuses (even valid ones) to adcoms.
