Hey CC! So by this June (2014) I would have completed the usual 9th grade Honors Biology course, would that be enough preparation (obviously I would be studying too), or should I wait until future science classes? I already have the Barron's and Princeton Review books. Thank You.

Read Barron’s and Princeton Review, you should be fine.

If you think that you enjoy biology and you can get a decent grade on it, then by all means, start studying (and don’t procrastinate–you’ll regret it) and you can definitely get the score you want! I have friends who took the 9th grade Honors Bio course and got a 5 on the AP Biology test (which admittedly requires a lot more studying and dedication). Anyhow, point being–you can definitely take the test and get a pretty good grade, as long as you diligently study.
However, you might want to think before taking it. If you have no interest in biology, then perhaps you might want to think again about taking the test–it might not look genuine if you take so many tests in all different courses simply because your school taught them. But of course, that’s your choice.
If you’re thinking about taking AP Biology later on in your high school career (say, junior year), then you can decide for yourself if you’d like to take the SAT Bio now or not. Many students take the test along with the AP test in junior year, since you’re studying the same material and the SAT is easier than the AP anyways. (So in a way you’d be “over-studying” for the SAT by prepping for the AP).

It’s your choice, really. But whatever you do, good luck!

Thanks for the information, chootimes! Science is not really my passion… Its more history/politics/etc so I’m definitely second guessing the possibility of taking it. My parents want me to, but I don’t really see the benefits. For most top colleges, they ask for about 3 SAT Subject Tests, so if I’m interested in History, I could take the US History Test, the World History Test, but then, what about the third? Thats why my parents want me to take bio… they think theres not really another test I would do well in… (maybe math ii actually…)
