SAT Cancellation due to dramatic Score Increase?

Hi everyone, I recently took the January 2015 SAT test and scored terrible. I got a 2040 with a 670 CR, 720 M, and a 650 W. In my official Bluebook practice tests and released SAT tests, I scored no less than a 2150 and the highest being a 2300. Now, I am continuing to study for the SAT and recently scored in the 2300 range (2310 and 2360) on two released sat tests. I will be retaking the SAT test in April, and if my score suddenly increases to a 2350 or 2370, will college board accuse me of cheating for having a 300+ score increase in little less than 2 months? I am worried because I have heard cases of this happening in which ETS forces the student to retake the test or nullify the score however I think I may have been too careless the first time. Thanks!

Im saying two months because though I was scheduled to take the jan 24th one, it was rescheduled to February.

Please take what I say with discretion because I’ve only seen a few of these posts but in those cases students went from like a 1500 to a 2100 for example. I doubt a 300 point increase would get your score nullified. Btw don’t be to hard on yourself, a 2040 is really good in perspective. If the college board does get suspicious of your score increase all they’ll do is launch an investigation. They will not automatically force you to retake the test or cancel your scores unless there is evidence that you cheated.

A 300 point increase from 2040 should not be a problem.

The only time I’ve seen a 300+ point increase lead to an actual cancellation was when there was proven cheating in the test center and all big gainers’ scores were canceled. I’ve seen 300+ increases delayed several times, though they’ve always been released in the end.

I made a similar 300 point increase, and had no problems with my score. You shouldn’t have a problem unless there was cheating.

Thank you guys so much for the responses! Now I can rest assured and study harder!

Don’t worry, you will be fine.
