SAT cancelled in Houston tomorrow because of snow

SAT Test Center Closings

lucky because theres so much snow in my city and my test center is not closed.

It snows in Texas?

How is he/she lucky ?I didn`t get that.No one threats you to the SAT.Its your own choice

I live in Houston… We got like 2 inches of snow yesterday, which isn’t that big of a deal, but Houstonians don’t know how to drive in snow. My school encouraged parents to pick up their kids before the roads got icy yesterday, and the newscasters are suggesting we not do any unnecessary driving today.

SOOO glad I wasn’t supposed to take it today or Id be ****ed…

I would HATE to wake up in the morning at 7 (knowing I need to be out the door by 7:30 to get there around 7:45) and my place had been relocated 15 more minutes away.

… I had no idea it snows in Texas. I’m in very NorCal and it doesn’t snow. Does Houston have a high elevation or something? O.o

2 inches really? wow. did they have to fit some trucks with plows on the spot?

It’s snowed 33 times in Houston in the past 114 years, it hasn’t snowed this much in 36 years, and we’re too low from sea-level to even have basements. Yesterday was a product of a miracle and a determined cold-front. It was awesome.

Supposedly, our SAT was moved to December 19. I get more time to study for my Physics SATII, thank god!

Haha, snowfall is complicated. We get this much snow like once every 10 years (though it does drizzle enough snow to make a snowball or two out of every year or two). This year it was because there was a patch of snow headed this direction, which I think probably originated in New Mexico. On top of that it reached an uncharacteristically low 28 degrees, which combined with a patch of rain from the gulf of mexico to create a huge cloud of snow.

And lol, no plows, the streets stayed mostly just wet from melted snow (I guess exhaust from the extensive driving here melted it), but the grass and plants were blanketed, as well as parked cars. That’s not really a concern of mine though, because I live less than a block from the school where I would take the SAT… haha
