SAT confusion

I've taken the SAT and ACT. I'm also taking SAT II subject tests (math II and chem) this fall. The thing is, my ACT score is very strong (33), whereas my SAT I blows (1980, ick). I know Dartmouth gets my SAT I score with my SAT II score, but I'd much prefer them to only look at my ACT score for admissions. Is there any way I can get them to only look at my ACT and SAT II scores? I know eastern schools like the SAT more and all that stuff, but I don't really care, I would love to go with my best, which is my ACT.

btw: I'm retaking both SAT I and the ACT this fall; I can make my ACT a lot better, and I NEED to fix that SAT I.

They'll look at whichever one is higher

I think on the application they do ask you what you are submitting. you write in the scores for your ACT (with writing) and your SATII scores.

this is probbaly a stupid question but can you only send one or the other? cause i thought you generally could send both if you wanted to??

I'm sure many people send only their SAT report which shows every test sitting of both SAT 1 and 2s.

If you choose to send the aCT, you can select the best one, and they'll never see the other(s) I believe if you're using the ACT, they'll want to see the SAT 2s also. If you took the SAT1, they will see it with the SAT 2 report.

I know, the college will see my SAT I with my SAT II's. I don't want them to. They can look at the score, but I DO NOT want them to use it for admissions. And I'm just trying to find out if I can make sure they don't use it for admissions. I'm still probably retaking it, because I don't want them to see such a bad score as my best SAT score at all.

keep in mind that the colleges WANT to take your best scores, that way it looks better for them on brochures and such
