so basically my score went down by 20 this time (1830! ugh!). my critical and math stayed EXACTLY the same, and my writing went down twenty points.

and now someone tells me that this person, for 90 days during summer, went to the library at 8:30 in the morning and returned at 9 p.m., doing three practice tests a day. she got 2200.

i'm sure most of you did not follow the above rutine and still got 2100+.
i have less than two weeks till my may SAT, and i basically have all the books from all well-known companies. i have not started with any of those books (we have all of them because we lend them to ppl and stuff).

which one? how should i study? how many practice tests? how many hours of studying everyday? thanks.

I only looked at the writing section of one book for maybe an 2 hours and I went from a 2060 to a 2200 (90 pt increase on writing just from that). Oh, and I also took the practice test online (and got a 2220, damn). Since the SAT tests a limited amount of material on the writing section, it's easy to look at a book, learn most of it, and experience gains without too much studying. I didn't even buy the book (PR), I just picked it up at the library. As for math, I magically improved. Reading has just stayed the same for me (except for on that practice test).

I think a really good catch-all is The Great Gatsby or The Scarlett Letter. Between those two they have every theme covered but honestly pick something you'd be comfortable writing about/ are knowledgable about. I picked a relatively obscure book but I really like it and was comfortable manipulating the facts in the book (I got a 12 despite the fact that some of the things extrapolated from the book probably aren't what the author intended the book to be about). From history the constitutional convention is pretty good, the great depression, either world war, or you know pick your favorite president wikipedia him and remember random things that he did.

anyways, do you guys have ideas on how to improve my cr ones besides reading and memorizing vocab?
i would also FULLY APPRECIATE tips on memorizing vocabs effectively. thanks!
