I recently got my January (well, February, as it was rescheduled due to snow) SAT scores back with a 700 CR, 790 Math, and 780 Writing. I am hoping to take the SAT one more time and get above a 750 in CR so that my superscore will be over 2300 and I’ll have a 750 in each section. Does anyone have any advice on how to break the 750 barrier?
Work on a bunch of CR sections, and see where you’re weak. Generally you’ll have a type of problem you have trouble with, and work on fixing that. If not, then it’s just a matter of practicing over and over again.
@mrnephew Ok thanks. Unfortunately I only have a few CR sections left in the blue book. Do you know of any other SAT practice material or material of the same dynamic that I could prep with after I finish the blue book?
I got 800 on CR section this way.
I bought Princeton Review’s word smart books and studied 50 words everyday, reviewing them every 3 days. Next, I bought the blue collegeboard SAT book, as well as other test prep books I could lay my hands on (PR, Baron’s, etc.) and did as many practice tests as I could.
Some may say that PR and Baron are not representative of the real exam. In my personal experience, though the difficulty is a bit different, they still mirror the actual SAT and help significantly.
Increasing your vocabulary and grammar skills will always be your best bet, and repetitive studying is definitely they way to go. Online sources for increasing your vocabulary help a lot - I used plenty of different websites when I was studying (I got an 800), and I found these to be the most effective websites;

Just make sure you’re studying everyday so that you retain as much information as possible! Good luck
