SAT Critical Reading Section

In the critical reading section, are there questions on literary devices--like personification, litotes, hyperbole, metonymy?

occasionally, but not enough to really worry about

In fact, I'd be very surprised if you saw them at all. The SAT II Lit test does sometimes ask literary device questions, but not the SAT I.

i saw one on the april sat. it was about juxtaposition or whatever.

True, but that's not so much a literary term as just vocabulary...

juxtaposition- place side by side

I've seen them on practice tests-like maybe one per test, but I don't remember any being on the actual test. And the ones that I've encountered are all really easy, just something about either personification or metaphors.
