I put that it was a common or prevalent ingredient, but the answer is debatable.
I can’t even remember what I put down, I do remember that I was debating over this question for almost 5 minutes (after finishing the rest of the section of course). I think I might have put secure in the end because the sentence went like “So how did this congresswomen take a spot in moral history during the late twentieth century…” I can’t remember the sentence exactly but I remember late twentieth century was in there, which was way after she became famous, so I figured she kept the position or secured it. I might have put “win over” as the answer though, I remember changing it like 3-4 times.
4)Shaped and edited

3) I put secure. It was the way the rest of the sentence was worded - it talked about the rest of the twentieth-century or something like that, which means that secure is probably right.

2) I’m pretty sure it was aesthetic and practical uses. Because of the last sentence. And also, it wasn’t common or prevalent; it talked about this other fragrance thing being the most commonly used. And it wasn’t luxurious either; I had a reason but I forgot. This question took me a few minutes.

1) I put exuberant too. None of the other answer choices matched.

4) Shaped and edited. It was a close tie before this and “reordered/restructured” but the reordered/restructured answer was wrong because of the last part to the answer.

@dfire the fish smell was the glue, not the ink. The author was saying in a humorous way ‘the musk was needed to cover up that repugnant odor’. Which is why I thought it would be common use.

lol well wikepedia tells me that musk comes from deer or other mammals, not fish, so the passage couldn’t have been saying the musk came from fish. But its still natural so im not sure.

aesthtic means visually pleasing, but that wasn’t musk right?
Also, the boy who was walking through walls. Was that creativity or freedom. I thought it was creativity cause he said first something like “And then I had the idea in my mind that I could…” I think…
What question is the sardonic/angry one?
for the describing the type of storytelling was that aspect or form
Lastly for the question on the main idea fr the story teller, did the answer include something about memories?

Just read the wikipedia article, oh well, there goes another CR question.

I’m almost certain the boy walking through the walls was freedom as the passage mentioned he felt that nobody could control him when he was in his house as it was under construction.

I also want to add that the word “aesthetic” doesn’t refer to only visual beauty. It can mean any sensory (smell, taste, etc) beauty and even emotion.

For the musk I have already eliminated the “hard to find and expensive” answer. While the passage stated musk was luxurious, it didn’t say it was “hard to find”, that seems like extra information.

The “aesthetics and practical” answer could be right, since aesthetics can technically refer to your senses, but I highly doubt it was intended to be inferred as that. I don’t know collegeboard so I won’t say this one can’t be the right answer.

“Made from nature” I remember when I was reading the passage, when it listed the ingredients it said musk was made from a wood or something. So this could possibly be the answer.
