Sat Date Dilemma

<p>Ok heres the problem, I’m not even sure if it is a problem yet. </p>

<p>Brown says they want ED sat scores by Nov1, they also allow you to take Nov1’s Sat test. </p>

<p>Now Collegeboard’s next sat test is on Oct.14, meaning that the day we recieve the sat marks would be in november already - 3 weeks. (Correct me if I’m wrong) </p>

<p>Currently I have a 2140 but I know I can get it over 2200, the problem is how would this work for my application? Do I write 2140 on the online app and send it as is before the Nov.1 due date, then have collegeboard rush send my OCT scores? Does the online app even require you to write your sat marks? </p>

<p>Also, if I take the Nov Sat, do I have to request rush send? </p>

<p>This is causing so much frustration… </p>

<p>they get the scores. even the nov SAT can be used, i'm pretty sure, though brown'll probably know them before you do.</p>

<p>The decisions come out around mid december. The Nov scores come out around 25th. Thats a very short amount of time to go through apps.</p>

<p>i'm super neurotic so i would rush the november score anyway, and just remember that they'll probably delay your app or something if they know you indicated that you're rushing scores (on the app you write that you took the Nov/Oct test) or whatever</p>

<p>yes. rush the scores just in case, i'd say. on the app it usually has many blanks to put several different scores from several different test dates. so i think you'll be putting down the scores for as many tests as you have taken. some apps ask for just the highest score to date. correct me if i'm wrong anyone, it's been such a long time. i can't really remember. i think sometimes apps also asks if you plan to take more tests. either way, College Board will send your college a report showing all the tests you have taken anyway, and they only consider the highest, so it doesn't really matter what goes on the app.</p>

<p>If you really want a good answer to your question, you should call the admissions office at Brown. You don't even have to identify yourself, however there is no way they would remember your name when you apply. If I recall when my son applied early, you do put down your scores. Call the Admissions office, though, and ask what you should put down if you're retaking it, and whether you should request a rush score from the College Board. Good luck.</p>
