I just submitted my SAT scores this evening, but it will apparently take 1-2 weeks for them be sent. If I send the scores before the deadline but they're received afterwards, will that count against me? Will they even be considered? Thanks in advance.

There are a small number of colleges that actually require the scores to be in their hands by the application deadline. Those clearly state that on their website. The rest accept scores that arrive within a reasonable time (week to 10 days) after the deadline and many of them even accept Jan SAT scores. Moreover, if you ordered scores sent today, they are likely to be “sent” next week and for most colleges the act of sending and receipt are the same thing since all that CB does is put the scorres into an on-line account the college has with CB.

You should check each college to which applied to see what it allows and be aware of the following: if it accepts the Dec ACT then your scores can arrive after Jan 1 since for the most part those ACT scores will not be sent until after Jan1.

Thank you so much! That’s quite the relief. Some schools I’m applying to do require them by January 1, according to their website (like BC), but hopefully, it will get there on time like you said. Thanks again.
