I do not know about the reading teacher, I kind of got help from my peers so I do not know a really good teacher, but if you have friends who go to international schools, tell them to recommend you a good foreign teacher, because they will be able to help you most. I know one good Egyptian teacher, but he lives in Maadi, if you’d like I can also send you his number.
Another thing is that solving reading is about reasoning: the ability to process the information you read correctly and orderly to make valid conclusions, so you should know that a teacher will not give you a magic formula with which you will pass the test, you have to work on yourself patiently and orderly. The place where you study is important, you have to be comfortable, make sure the lighting is not bothering you, and that you are in the right mood to receive and process information. Also, something that might sound funny is that you have to pay attention to the way you are seated, I, for example, noticed that when I cross my legs or put my hand on my chin, my concentration lessens and I become lazier and focus on the info I am receiving, so you have to be attentive to the position that makes you most attentive.
I suggest that you set a weekly schedule, make notes on your development, memorize vocabulary, and try to regard this as an experience that will improve your abilities and add to you rather than an obligation, so that you’d really be able to benefit. Inshaa’llah you will see the change and keep me updated on your performance
Yes finally! I received my score as well as every student in Egypt. However, My scores - same as @Ghada95’s - did not meet my expectations, not even close to it. I even started to think that the College Board administration team calculated our - Egyptian’s - reading score somehow that may not be in such enough fairness as they claim. I thought they’d have a plan for those cheaters - If found any - and will have our scores released fairly without using any unfair or let me say…a bit unfair methods to calculate egyptian student scores. I - too- got my least reading score of all, what exactly happened with Ghada. Anyway I’d like to say congratulations for the cheaters who caused this mess for us, and I hope they’d stop and rely on themselves on getting a higher score so they could give us - fair students - a chance to prove ourselves and raise our scores fairly.
I’m Zeyad187’s sister. It’s also unfair that American students get more advantages than the rest, as they can attend more SAT tests (Like march, april, May 9). We all should have the same number of SAT tests that we can attend in year
@zeyad187 You can request a score verification if you are sure that your score is not correct, if you will be applying to selective colleges next year then you want to make sure your history is consistent, so give it a thought But bear in mind that you have five months from the test date to make such a request.
Students in Egypt are quite restricted with the type of test they can choose on certain months, which is truly annoying when you have many plans, I do not understand these stupid policies of CB!
Remember this is a US test. I think cheating is getting spread in most of the countries. You have the chance to prepare well for this test. Sometimes is not enough and you need to work much harder than the last time. Make a schedule before taking test and know when is the correct time to take it.
My reading score didn’t meet my expectations as well. At home I score 700s and on the actual test I only got a 590 when I think my effort was much more than that. Im thinking of ordering score verification but since my score shot up 400 points overall Im afraid they’ll take another look at it and think I cheated or something. It happened with my friend.
