Anywho, I need some advice on what to do. I took the SATs once my junior and once again my senior year, exactly one year apart. My scores my junior year were (750CR,760M,630W-8) The eight being the essay. The scores I received today are (710CR,780M,620W-11) How I did so poorly on the multiple choice of writing I can not fathom, but I clearly did not do so hot. My question is, should I still submit my score the schools I applied to, and will the 11 on the essay look better than the 8 despite the lower overall writing score?

Keep the score you have now. You would benefit very little (only 20 points) from superscoring, and I don't think that the 11 essay (very very good!) will outweigh the low multiple choice (:(). Seems like the writing section wasn't too kind to you!

I wouldn't worry too much about the 8 essay. Colleges understand that sometimes you have a bad day or the topic just didn't click for you...unless your essays sound like a 50 year old middle manager wrote them, they're not going to question them. Plus, on a practical note, at this point, I don't think that your scores would get to colleges in time for them to be evaluated, so it's kind of a moot point anyway.

I'm not entirely sure this is true, nor am I an expert on it but didn't both sets of scores get sent either way? Collegeboard.com says SAT scores are cumulative and your most recent score is sent whether you want it to or not. Unless I'm missing something where your allowed to request not to send a particular score. But 11 on the essay! Incredible. I wonder if you had 3 people grade it because they couldn't decide, or you were just that good.

Wateradept, whenever collegeboard sends your SAT scores, they send all of the ones that they have on record for you. However, the OP was asking if she/he should re-send their latest SAT scores. They have already submitted scores, and were just wondering if they should update their colleges. If you do not fill out score recepients when you register for a test, your scores will not be sent anywhere and you will have to pay later if you would like to send the scores.
