I'm not sure if there's already a thread for this, but is there any well-known list of examples from literature/history that could help with essay prompts?

I know some such as:

1984
American Revolution
The Great Gatsby
Women's Suffrage
Steve Jobs
French Revolution
Hitler / World War II

But I'm sure that these are not enough to cover all essay prompts, so does anyone have some really good ones that could be used in multiple prompts?

Here are some more:

-Lord of the Flies
-Fahrenheit 451 (though it tends to be overused)
-Julius Caesar
-Their Eyes Were Watching God
-To Kill a Mockingbird
-The Picture of Dorian Gray
-The atomic bomb/Manhattan Project
-Slavery, the Civil War
-Galileo, Copernicus, Newton, Darwin (WAY overused)
-Civil Right’s Era (Rosa Parks, MLK)

Try to refrain from using Hitler, for it tends to be controversial and overused as well.

thanks man this was really helpfull
