i have a writing score of 660 and essay score 10
i want any help to improve the essaylike some examples to know and talk about .i usually dont know what to write so please can any one give me any help. the exam is on 3 days for today</p>
<p>I’d recommend that you don’t worry too much about the essay, because a 10 is a great score. However, because you got a 660, it means your raw score for writing isn’t that great. Try to memorize a few simple rules. I got a 790 and a 10 on the writing section and essay, just because I memorized a bunch of random rules, like parallelism, idioms, or the passive voice. But if you’re intent on the essay, I would recommend memorizing 3 or 4 subjects that you are familiar with, ranging from topics like math and science to history and culture. Use books that you have read with deeper meaning, like The Adventures of Huck Finn, or Of Mice and Men. When you get the essay topic, use the books or ideas you have, and ******** it as much as possible. e.g. Do you think that respect is important? Response: Well, in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Huck befriend Jim, his slave, and treats him with kindness, and it benefits Huck repeatedly.</p>
<p>agreed you might want to focus on your writing section more than the essay.
colleges dont place too much emphasis on it bc the graders are obviously following a set formula to grade them. thats why they still require you to submit an essay with ur app as it would give them a better look into your writing skills and your personality, even though you’ve supposedly been graded on your essay writing skills already by the sat. </p>
<p>a lower score on the writing portion typically means that you are not ready for advanced grammar and will have a harder time understanding esoteric texts, a common tool of learning in college.</p>
