So i was looking at previous SAT essay prompts and thinking of possible examples. But i just could not think of anything for this one:

Does having a large number of options to choose from make people happy?

help please? (esp. if you did this prompt and aced it!)

It really does not matter how the examples are. You could simply write about how when you were entering high school you had fifty high schools you could have gone to and this number was too overwhelming so instead of making you happy it made you split and torn. Just make random stuff up, it doesn't matter.

It's best not to use personal experience, but rather history and literature. Take two books you're familiar with, and one time period in USH you're familiar with, and find an example within each of those that supports the prompt. If there's nothing, like with this there mightn't be, then embellish the examples.

Example:

In the 1830s, the principle of Popular Sovereignty governed many US states, which was a principle by which the people of the state decided if the state was to allow slavery.

--Doesn't reeeeally support the prompt, so embellish:

In the 1830s, when introduced to the public, the principle of Popular Sovereignty was wholeheartedly accepted by all people, pro-slavery and anti-slavery, because it gave they the people the right to choose for their own states whether or not to illegalize slavery. People, regardless of their political beliefs, preferred the ability to choose to having government mandates imposed on them.

lol @ wantivy
hmm okay thanks, godfatherbob. i can see how that works.

any more? (=
