gahhhh..

memorize 40 essays in advance like I did and you're guaranteed to hit a topic that you've memorized already. October 14th SAT, 12 on the essay here I come. Three more days! Yeahhh!

Or do something better with your time. It's not like 10 is a BAD essay score or anything.

Can you first please tell me how to get a 10 on my essays...then we can talk about you getting an 11 or 12. :)

Simple to get a ten. (this is my opinion. Not 100% true :()
1. Use at least both pages or at least enough to leave only 2 or 3 lines.
2. use a couple big words in there.
3. make sure you try to have many examples (2 or 3).
4. make your examples different. I always do 1 history, 1 literature, 1 personal.
5. don't give a superficial explanation for the examples. Go in depth.
6. if you do 3 examples then have a very short topic sentence ( i do 1).
All of these tactics I used will hopefully get me a 10-11 on this october SAT... i hope.

Perplexitudinous: What do you mean?

"memorize 40 essays in advance like I did and you're guaranteed to hit a topic that you've memorized already"

now how do we do that? which essays to memorize?

Buy like 7 different writing section only prep books, which are loaded with 12 essays, and voila... Memorize and get a 12!

instead of memorizing essays, you could also just learn in depth about a couple braod topics. such as WWII that can be applied to many situations. I didn't do this and had an 8...

If you are taking or took any AP English or AP HIstory class, this will be easy to do. Your readings are chock-full of information that you can pull out of your head. :)

or you could chill out.
