I've heard about an experimental section that is thrown in the SAT. Is this true?

yes this is true

Ohh where does it usually show up? Is it random? Like a random Critical reading section is experimental? Or is it always writing or always math?

And how does it affect the score?

Usually it's put in the middle of the test(Sections 4-7 I think, though not always). I knew immediately which one was mine because my Section 1 was a 35 question writing(only one of these exists on the test), and then I had a Section 5, 35 question writing again. CollegeBoard doesn't expect people to know where the experimental is because the majority of people don't go that indepth into the SAT. I do though, and it felt good to know that it was experimental because it was hard! I still tried, but not as hard since it DOESN'T affect your score.

Ohh so usually it's harder? Aha I get it noww.

rahoul how did you have a 35 minute section one writing?
isn't that always the essay?

i think he meant 35 question

I had the writing section as experimental maybe it was 6th section

After the Test

so i had the first example. which was the experiment? i dont get how you tell based on that link ... please help!
