<p>What's the max you should take the SAT?
I heard taking it more than 3 times is a risk, but don't colleges only see the score you've chosen?</p>
<p>Depends on the college. If anything, it shows ambition and a drive to better oneself.</p>

<p>I’d say over 5 is pushing it a little. My friend took it five times and is still below me, so.</p>
<p>I always heard not to take more than three. But then again they only see what you want I think. That’s a little confusing. They probably have another way to see how many you take.</p>
<p>take it as often as you want. If you have saturdays to kill and can get that score up… why not?</p>
<p>Take it as many times as you want, but generally people’s scores state to plateau after two or three testings. But if you continue to see an upward trend in your scores, then continue to take it, if you want. And a lot of top tier colleges, if those are the ones you are looking into, do not use the Score Choice Option, so they will see all of your scores. Most times though, they will only consider the highest score (or superscore), but they will still see all of your scores.</p>
