Once: 800M, 770V.

Twice:

March Junior Year: 660V; 780 M
December Senior Year: 690 V; 780 M

"three times... 1220 (early jr year) , 1330, (mid jr year) 1500 (early senior year)... the 1500 was a very plesant surprise"

OMG..That's a big jump within a year? That's pretty amazing.

Boy... that is a big jump. Did you take a class, a tutor? Two?
The kids at my school went nutts all last year over those things. Needless to say... I saved many hundreds of dollars (in comparison to my peers) and came out with what I think is the highest SAT score of my grade. :)

660 M/ 790 V = 1450 (Jan junior year)
710 M/770 V = 11470 (March junior year)

baaah. I hate SAT

Once: 800M, 800V.

twice

May04 - 680V, 720M (1400)
Dec04 - 750V, 780M (1530)

once
May04: 780M 760V

I almost retook it for the math, because the two questions i got wrong were such careless errors, and no i'm not asian.

No offense or anything, but unless you're an international or english is not your first language, how do you guys get splits of like 800M 610V?

I know the verbal is a real ***** of a section, but if the math is that easy, then can't you afford to spend more time studying flashcards?

Or maybe most of those guys are internationals or not native english speakers, and they just dont say it.

4... yea i know...

1: 700 V, 610 M = 1310
2. 690 V, 650 M = 1340
3. 700 V, 740 M = 1440
4. 740 V, 760 M = 1500

i think it was worth it.

pyrrhus, or maybe english isn't our forte? i.e. freshman split 800M 660V

which isn't on the collegeboard site... grr

twice

1550 early junior year
1530 late junior year--I decided to stop there before it fell any farther

what exactly do u mean "english isnt our forte"? If you mean like english class, the skills you need to do well in english class do not transfer over to the SAT and SATII writing (i probly shouldnt bring in the SATII writing, that is an entirely diff test than SATI verbal)

And i certainly wouldnt say english is my forte either, i rarely get A range grades on english assignments.

Also to do well on the math, especially geometry, you need to have a lot of stuff memorized, volumes, theorems, etc, if you can remember alternate interior angles are equal (they are equal right) then why can't u remember that an aphasian is someone who never speaks?

only twice, but I'm not that happy with my score

1st time 1060
2nd 1240

pyrrhus i hope you're kidding, not everyone learns by memorization, if that we're true i'd get a 600 on math for sure, math is easier because it's definitive, where there are no "tricks" or variations on the same thing, when you add 2 and 3 you get 5... with english, there are several ways to word something to achieve the same effect, maybe you scored well, but that doesn't mean everyone has to... and if that's true, then i imagine someone who scored an 800M 530V split is an idiot to you?

Not when you get to Calculus...or at least it seems that way...:)

but it is! it's just harder to see... i'm in calc bc :) so i feel your pain...

1) 800M, 800V
i'm waiting for cb to make some more challenging tests =

did you come on to gloat? ;) lol... you'll soon get flamed if you keep that up, but welcome to cc :)

i agree with vivaldi, i haven't taken basic math since eighth grade. it was kind of tough remembering my algebra. :)

plus if you're like me, and you're the type of person that tries to look at every aspect of a problem or question, you can (like i did) rationalize how more than one answer can be correct. i sat there during the test like "well if you look at it this way...." which doesn't work out so well.

that oovel....guy got into harvard EA.
