SAT II Chemistry May 2012

thanks for the replies! <3

anyone remember any other answers besides what bart said?.

Ionization energy, Isoelectronic, kinetic energy
The sun emits ultraviolet radiation
The earth emits infrared radiation
Salt and sand are separated with a funnel
Copper and iron are separated with a magnet
HCL and H2 gas are separated with that last picture of bubbling water
9 L of water to dilute HCL
SiCl4 is tetrahedral
Highest kinetic energy was CH4
Partial pressure of N2 is 100
Copper solution was blue
Silver and something else formed a precipitate
Phenalthapin turns BASES pink

Ionization energy, Isoelectronic, kinetic energy

What was isoelectronic?? that means the same amount of charge. what question does that answer correspond to?

the ions…
same number of electrons

i think it corresponds to Ne, F-, Na+

Conjugate base question? I think it was H30+ and H20 or H20 and HO-

The question about O2 and O3 was allotropes. I can’t think of any others right now :stuck_out_tongue: My head hurts from Chem since now I have to study for the AP test Monday.

is the embargo officially lifted? and i think it was the latter

N2 = triple bond
F2 = single covalent bond

Na2CO3 = ionic and covalent bonds

oh well I got that wrong…

gas one is the last instrument picture
partial pressure= 1OO
one of the balancing… 4 H2o and 5 Co2 (or the other way around)

add more to this list if u remember

what equation corresponds to electrolysis of water? and
ionization of water?

for electrolysis. if it asked for a half reaction at the cathode it would have been different: 2h20 → 2h2 02

I have IB chemistry tests tuesday and wednesday :/

Ionization of water H2O–> H3O+ and OH-

What were hard questions you guys remember?

I know already I got two wrong and I omitted two :frowning: I really wanted an 800…
