Hey everyone! I’m required to do the chem subject test for a specific school, but I have not taken AP/IB Chem (school doesn’t offer), and I took honors chem (aced it), but it was my sophomore year (currently a senior). So basically how should I go about studying for this thing when I basically have to reteach myself the whole curriculum? Thanks!
I would just get a review book or two (Barrons is what I’ll be using when I take it in the spring, but I really liked PR for bio so PR may be a good choice) and review anything you’re confused on using the internet or a textbook. Honestly, SAT II Chemistry is mainly concepts, so it shouldn’t be a horrible self-study.
Thanks @helpless2017. Would you suggest MIT OpenCourseWare or anything like that?
I got the Barron’s SAT Chem book and got 800. It definitely overpreps you but the T/F section is easier than the real thing, so you should look elsewhere for practice on that.
@ThaiGiraffe I think OpenCourseWare (even the Highlights for HS) would be a little overkill… Maybe only on the stuff you’re confused on (or if you’re interested in chemistry, go ahead, but a lot of that dives into more stuff than you need)
