sat ii dilemma

i have taken three sat ii's. math ii, us history, and lit. i, maybe stupidly, assumed that this fulfilled every colleges requirement, considering that to my knowledge the only universities or colleges that required specifically a math and science are schools with a heavy technology or science concentration like mit and caltech. if i'd been thinking i would have realized that i am applying to cmu's college of sciences as my first choice with a prospective major in mathematics, which is precisely such a school, so of course there was a good chance the application requirements are different.

evidently i wasn't thinking. i was glancing through the application instructions area on cmu's website today to check if i'd forgotten anything when i stumbled across the section that details application requirements and realized, to my surprise, that MCS requires a math sat ii and a science sat ii.

so i have a few questions. does cmu accept scores from the january test date (i couldn't find anything about this on the website) and if so what would be the best way to contact them to indicate that i am taking a science sat ii in january (there's still time to late register)? if they do not accept january scores does the absence of a science sat ii from my application automatically mean that i will not be considered for MCS, and will only be considered for my second choice (HSS)? or is there a chance that my 5 on ap physics b will be adequate?

i feel terrible about this, i know i should have checked all my colleges' requirements more meticulously before it was too late to fulfill them. but i've just been so rushed what with my overly long list of schools and my failure to start any of the applications until after i received my inevitable deferral from my ED school and the holidays...thanks for your help!!

I called a while back and the lady in the office said they would accept January scores but that they prefer December.

Call on Monday and ask. I’m pretty sure that they do. Then e-mail them and tell them that you were told on the phone that it is ok to submit the Jan. scores, so that is what you will be doing. That way, you have an answer from them, and they have a written (e-mail) record from you.

i e-mailed them, and still no response. i’m guessing calling is the preferred method of communication?
