The Georgetown website says “Please plan on taking either the SAT or ACT and three SAT Subject Tests for submission with your application.” 3 subject tests!! I was going through result threads, and it seemed that students who submitted 3 subject tests, even if they were low, had a stronger chance than people who didn’t. Is this true? My scores just came out, and I did not do very well. I have a 780 Math II, and I just got a 680 and 660 in Physics and Lit, respectively. Will this discount me? How important are these scores towards admission? For context purposes, I have a 1520 SAT and a 34 ACT, and I’m a pretty involved student (Student Council President, several academic clubs, varsity soccer captain, etc.). Please help! Thanks!
If you took tests, you are required to send the scores to Georgetown, even if you didn’t do very well. SAT II’s aren’t a big part of the application, and the rest of your app has no obvious holes in it, so it shouldn’t hurt you much. So your choice is basically go with the scores you have right now, which aren’t bad, or take them again and hope for a better score. Of course, without more stats, it’s hard to make a call how it’ll affect your app.
